Where do all the hours in the day go?

Either I'm completely disorganised or it is just a myth that you gain a whole lot of free time once your youngest child goes to school. People keep asking me "What are you doing with all your free time?"
?
What free time ?
Maybe it's because it's spring and there's so much to do in the garden.
Maybe it's because the kids have each had almost a week off each with flu.
Maybe it's because I've been helping out at school a bit.
Maybe it's because this youngest one seems to be finding it hard to transition to school.
Rain,
Leak in the hot water cylinder wetting all the sheets and blankets in the linen cupboard.
I don't know?
Roll on school holidays.

Oh, I am with you!

It's 12:30 (nearly) and I'm figuring out what on earth I've spent the day doing.

Let me see...
- helped out with the reading at school - until 10:30.
- shopping - until 11:00.
- library - until 11:30.
- came home, put shopping away, had lunch, checked email, amswered important stuff, dumped the rest - until 12:15.
- sitting down with a cuppa and the reading list for a relaxing hour or two - here I am!

And my husband will ask "what did you do today?" and my answer will be "nothing much".

yes it is a complete myth that you have more time. You actually have less time because you now have to programm your day to fit around school hours.

I know what you mean Gilly. I think one of the big issues is these un-anticipated things that always crop up that suddenly eat up time you had carved out for other stuff ... like sick or unsettled kids, or a leaky something ...
